A Day in the Life of Planet Mom: Bridging Me and Mom

September 14 9-11:00 a.m. Raiford Road Church Coffee Shop

We are excited about our first meeting of the year! A few things are different that we want to be sure everyone is aware of. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Meeting times are different: on the second Monday we will meet in the mornings from 9-11 a.m. ; the fourth Monday meeting will be from 6-8:00 p.m. We follow the school calendar so on days when there is no school there will be no MOPS meeting. To view the 2009-10 calendar you may visit our host church's website, click on the ministries link and find our MOPS page.

See you at our first meeting!

All mothers will want to attend this meeting. As moms of such young children, it's difficult to make time to do anything else, let alone take time for yourself! This meeting will serve as a reminder of the importance of making time for yourself and will offer creative ways of doing so. Please join us and bring a friend! As always, childcare is provided and is free to anyone attending our MOPS meetings. See  you there!

Free Fall: Do You Have a Safety Net?

April 6 9a-11a Raiford Road Church Coffee Shop
As Americans, we rely on security - insurance for our health, homes, cars and even our lives give us a peace of mind that we and our loved ones will be financially secure in the event of a tragic accident, serious illness or even job loss. We plan for the temporal but neglect the eternal. This meeting will help our mothers focus on the importance of insuring our families for eternity.

Update on Ashley Kennedy

Ashley had another doctor's appointment today. Her protein levels have increased indicating that her kidneys are continuing to malfunction. However, her doctor feels that because she is only 35 weeks the baby still needs more time for her lungs to develop before they perform a cesarean section. Because amniotic fluid levels are below normal she regularly visits high-risk obstetricians to thoroughly examine the baby's health. She has a schedule appointment on Thursday with the possibility of undergoing an amniocentesis. Pray for Ashley - that the Lord would ease her discomfort, grant her peace and keep her healthy as well as Baby Isabella.

Pray for Ashley Kennedy

One of our MOPS who is expecting her second child, Isabella, is in need of your prayers. Ashley's pregnancy has been a difficult one as her kidneys threaten to fail, blood pressure escalates and amniotic fluid level decreases. Her doctors are keeping her and Isabella under close medical surveillance with multiple weekly visits. This Friday, March 14th, she will undergo another series of checkups. Every trip threatens the result of an emergency cesarean section. Pray for Ashley, her husband, son and for Baby Isabella. Pray that Ashley will remain in good health and the baby will continue to grow and thrive throughout the remainder of the pregnancy.

The First Aid Station: For the Bumps and Bruises

March 16 9a-11a Raiford Road Church Coffee Shop
Often times in our mothering journey, we fall and get "banged up." This meeting will provide an opportunity to realize these setbacks as a natural part of the course in motherhood. The "First Aid Station" will help us to begin healing as we learn how to manage "injuries" in motherhood.

Welcome New MOPPETT!

On Saturday, January 31st at 5:01 p.m. our newest MOPPETT arrived! Will Johnson (pictured with his proud parents), weighing  7.4 lbs. and 19 in. long, became our youngest MOPPETT and we all can't wait to meet him.

Our gang of preschoolers at MOPS is growing and thriving. Since the inception of our MOPS group in September 2008, we've had two new additions to our MOPPETTS bunch with Sarah Fouraker being the first baby born in our group. We anticipate more growth with several expectant mothers in our group. We can't wait to meet their tiny new faces!

Tunnel of Love: Keeping the Romance Alive
